Every year kids make valentine’s to give to their teachers or friends. This year maybe give something a little different.

We love making delicious cakes and brownies and putting our own powdered sugar “cut-out” messages and designs on them. We like to sometimes put joke messages on the cakes too like we did for our dad. (See the picture below). We did a cut out of a fake (younger) age, added powdered sugar, and then had a funny personal message on the cake. We thought why not do this for Valentine’s Day, and here we are; handing out lovely treats to our friends and teachers which we hope they are prone to enjoy!

So skip away from the candy aisle and make your own sweets & “love notes” on homemade Chocolate brownies, cake, cupcakes or bark.

It is a simple way to acknowledge your Valentine with a sweet treat. These are super simple and loads of fun. There are simple steps and one of them is so easy! 🙂

Step 1: Make your chocolate brownies, bark, cake or cupcakes

Step 2: Cut out the messages, shapes or designs you want to add to your chocolate (or buy foam stickers).

Some suggestions are:

  • “i” “heart” “u”
  • “u rock”
  • “ILYSM”
  • “XOXO”
  • “:)”
  • “Too Cute”
  • “Smile”
  • “LOL”

Step 3: Place the cut outs on your chocolate

Step 4: Put powdered sugar in a fine mesh sieve

Step 5: Sprinkle the powdered sugar on top of your chocolate and cut outs.

Step 6: Peel off the cut outs (we use tweezers)

Step 7: Voila! You have a message in your chocolate

Step 8: Give these to your Valentine instead of a card or gift! Or do it for for a birthday cake.

Enjoy,
